Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information JDAC collects when you use our freight booking platform, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have over your information.

Your privacy matters. JDAC Logistics is committed to protecting your personal information. By using our platform or services, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. Please read it together with our Terms & Conditions.
01

Introduction & Scope

This Privacy Policy ("Policy") describes how JDAC Logistics ("JDAC", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, stores, shares and protects personal information when you access or use the website and mobile application available at ship.jdaclogistics.com (the "Platform") and the freight and logistics services offered through it.

This Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including Shippers, Consignees, visitors and registered account holders. It should be read together with our Terms & Conditions. By using the Platform or our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.

We handle personal information in accordance with applicable Indian data protection law, including the Information Technology Act, 2000 and rules made under it, and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, as and when its provisions come into force.

02

Information We Collect

We collect information that is necessary to provide our services, operate the Platform, and comply with legal obligations. The categories of information include:

2.1 Information you provide

  • Account details — name, mobile number, email address, password, and business details such as company name and GSTIN where applicable.
  • Booking and shipment details — pickup and delivery addresses, consignee details, consignment description, weight, dimensions, declared value, and transport mode selected.
  • Payment information — billing details and transaction records. Card and bank details are processed by secure third-party payment gateways and are not stored by JDAC.
  • Communications — information you share when you contact support, raise a claim, give feedback, or respond to surveys.
  • Identity and compliance documents — where required for certain shipments or account verification, such as identity proof, e-way bills or invoices.

2.2 Information collected automatically

  • Device and usage data — IP address, device type, operating system, browser, app version, and pages or features used.
  • Location data — approximate or precise location, where you grant permission, to enable pickup, tracking and route-related features.
  • Cookies and similar technologies — as described in Section 8.

2.3 Information from third parties

We may receive information from transport partners, payment providers, and other service providers in connection with the services you book, as well as from a person who books a shipment on your behalf or names you as a consignee.

03

How We Collect Information

We collect information in the following ways:

  • directly from you, when you register, book a shipment, make a payment, or contact us;
  • automatically, through cookies and similar technologies as you interact with the Platform;
  • from transport partners and service providers who help us deliver consignments and process transactions; and
  • from other users, such as a Shipper who provides your details as a Consignee.

Where you provide information about another person — for example, a consignee — you confirm that you are authorised to share that information with us for the purpose of completing the shipment.

04

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following purposes:

  • to create and manage your account and verify your identity;
  • to process bookings, arrange pickup and delivery, and provide shipment tracking;
  • to calculate charges, process payments, and issue invoices;
  • to communicate with you about bookings, service updates, and support requests;
  • to handle claims, refunds, cancellations and grievances;
  • to operate, maintain, secure and improve the Platform and our services;
  • to detect, prevent and investigate fraud, misuse and security incidents;
  • to send service-related notifications and, with your consent, marketing communications; and
  • to comply with legal, regulatory and tax obligations and respond to lawful requests from authorities.
05

Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal information where:

  • you have given consent for a specific purpose, such as marketing or accessing your location;
  • processing is necessary to perform the contract of carriage and provide the services you have requested;
  • processing is necessary to comply with a legal obligation; or
  • processing supports our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Platform, in a manner that does not override your rights.

Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time, as described in Section 11. Withdrawal does not affect processing carried out before withdrawal.

06

How We Share Information

JDAC does not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to provide our services and meet legal requirements, including with:

  • Transport partners and delivery personnel — to arrange pickup, carriage and delivery of consignments;
  • Payment processors and financial institutions — to process payments and refunds securely;
  • Technology and service providers — who support hosting, analytics, communications and customer support on our behalf;
  • Government, regulatory and law-enforcement authorities — where required by law, court order, or to protect rights, safety and property; and
  • Successors in a business transfer — in connection with a merger, acquisition or reorganisation, subject to this Policy.

We require third parties who process personal information on our behalf to protect it and use it only for the purposes we specify.

07

Transport Partners & Service Providers

As a logistics aggregator, JDAC works with a network of transport partners across Cargo, Rail, Bus, Air and Courier services. To complete a booking, we share the information necessary for carriage — such as pickup and delivery addresses, contact numbers and consignment details — with the partner handling that shipment.

These partners are expected to handle your information responsibly and use it only to perform the relevant service. JDAC is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of partners or providers beyond the information we share for fulfilment.

08

Cookies & Tracking Technologies

The Platform uses cookies and similar technologies to operate effectively and improve your experience. These help us:

  • keep you signed in and remember your preferences;
  • maintain the security and integrity of the Platform;
  • understand how the Platform is used so we can improve it; and
  • measure the performance of features and, where permitted, communications.

You can manage or disable cookies through your browser or device settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect the functionality of the Platform, including login and booking features.

09

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining records of transactions, resolving disputes, and enforcing our agreements.

We also retain information where required to comply with legal, tax, accounting and regulatory obligations. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to securely delete, anonymise or de-identify it.

10

Data Security

We apply reasonable technical, administrative and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration or disclosure. These include access controls, encryption in transit where appropriate, and secure handling of payment data through trusted gateways.

Important No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. While we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials confidential and for notifying us promptly of any suspected unauthorised use of your account.
11

Your Rights & Choices

Subject to applicable law, you have the following rights in relation to your personal information:

  • Access — to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
  • Correction — to request that inaccurate or incomplete information be corrected or updated;
  • Erasure — to request deletion of your information where it is no longer required and there is no legal basis to retain it;
  • Withdrawal of consent — to withdraw consent for processing that relies on consent, such as marketing;
  • Grievance redressal — to raise a concern or complaint about how your information is handled.

You can update much of your information directly within your account settings. To exercise any other right, contact us using the details in Section 17. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request, and some requests may be limited by legal requirements.

12

Marketing Communications

With your consent, we may send you promotional messages about offers, new features and services through email, SMS, WhatsApp, push notifications or phone calls.

You can opt out of marketing communications at any time by using the unsubscribe option in a message, adjusting your notification settings, or contacting us. Even if you opt out of marketing, we will still send you essential service-related communications, such as booking confirmations and important account notices.

13

Children's Privacy

The Platform and services are intended for users who are 18 years of age or older and legally capable of entering into a binding contract. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected information from a child without appropriate consent, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

15

Data Storage & Transfers

Personal information collected through the Platform is generally stored and processed in India. Where information is processed by service providers, it is handled in accordance with this Policy and applicable law.

If information is transferred to or accessed from a location outside India, we take reasonable steps to ensure it continues to receive an appropriate level of protection consistent with this Policy and legal requirements.

16

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, technology, or legal requirements. The updated Policy will be posted on the Platform with a revised effective date. Where changes are material, we may notify you through the Platform or other reasonable means.

Your continued use of the Platform after the updated Policy takes effect constitutes your acceptance of the changes. We encourage you to review this Policy periodically.

17
